ImpactEstablished a comprehensive design system covering typography, color, components, form controls, and dashboard patterns — reducing design inconsistency across product teams.

Designed and documented a comprehensive enterprise UI design system covering the full spectrum of product UI patterns — from foundational typography and color tokens through interactive components, form controls, tab navigation, and complex dashboard layouts. The system was built to serve multiple product teams while maintaining visual and behavioral consistency across a large-scale product suite.

Without a shared design system, each product team was independently solving the same UI problems — creating multiple variants of the same components, inconsistent type scales, and color palettes that drifted between products. This created visual fragmentation in the product experience and significant duplicated effort in both design and engineering.

1

INVENTORY & AUDIT

Conducted a full UI inventory across all products — cataloguing every button variant, input style, color value, and type size in use. Found 23 different button treatments and 8 separate gray scales across the product portfolio.

2

FOUNDATIONS

Established the typographic scale (using a modular scale ratio), color system (primary, secondary, semantic, neutral, and data visualization palettes), spacing system (8px grid), and iconography guidelines.

3

COMPONENT LIBRARY

Designed and documented 40+ components including buttons, inputs, selects, checkboxes, radio controls, tabs, cards, modals, tooltips, and data tables. Each component included all states: default, hover, active, focus, disabled, and error.

4

DASHBOARD PATTERNS

Developed a set of reusable dashboard layout patterns — KPI card grids, data table + filter combos, and chart containers — that teams could assemble into new views without starting from scratch.

5

DOCUMENTATION

Authored usage guidelines for every component covering when to use, when not to use, accessibility requirements, and implementation notes. Delivered as a living Sketch library with connected InVision prototype documentation.

The design system reduced per-feature design time by eliminating redundant component work, established a single source of truth for all UI decisions, and meaningfully improved visual consistency across the product suite. Dashboard layouts that previously took days to design could be assembled in hours using the pattern library.
