Field Service Mobile App
Native mobile app for field technicians designed around real-world constraints — gloves, sunlight, offline — cutting dispatch calls by 71%.
// OVERVIEW
Designed a native mobile application for field service technicians managing work orders, parts inventory, and customer sign-off — entirely in the field, often offline.
// THE PROBLEM
Technicians were carrying printed work orders and calling dispatch 4–6 times per shift. The existing web portal didn’t work on mobile and was unusable with work gloves. The new app needed to work offline and require minimal reading.
// PROCESS
FIELD RESEARCH
Describe your discovery and research activities here — methods used, participants, what you found.
CONCEPT DESIGN
Explain how you synthesized your research — affinity mapping, journey maps, key insight clusters.
PROTOTYPE & TEST
Describe your design process — concepts explored, iterations made, how decisions were validated.
HANDOFF
How did you test and validate the solution? What changed between rounds of testing?
// OUTCOME
Dispatch calls reduced by 71% in the pilot group. Work order close time improved by 28 minutes per shift. App store rating hit 4.7 within 60 days of launch.
