MLB Event Credential Design System
Official event credential design for MLB postseason events 2007–2009 — All-Star Games, NLDS, NLCS, and World Series credentials combining security requirements with premium sports brand design.
// OVERVIEW
Designed the official event credential systems for multiple Major League Baseball postseason and All-Star events across 2007–2009 — including the 2007 and 2008 All-Star Games, 2008 NLDS, NLCS, and World Series, and the 2009 All-Star Game. Each credential set required balancing strict security specifications with the premium visual standards of Major League Baseball’s brand.
// THE CHALLENGE
Event credentials serve a dual purpose: they are functional security documents that must be immediately legible and verifiable by event staff, and they are collectible pieces of sports memorabilia that represent some of the most prestigious moments in the sport. Every design had to work at both levels simultaneously — functional clarity under stadium conditions and premium print quality worthy of the event.
// PROCESS
BRAND COMPLIANCE
Worked within MLB’s strict brand guidelines for each event — All-Star Games, NLDS, NLCS, and World Series each had distinct visual identities that needed to be incorporated while maintaining credential readability and security standards.
ACCESS TIER DESIGN
Developed visual hierarchies across credential tiers — Media, Field, Press Box, Event Staff, and VIP — with color coding and typography systems that allowed security personnel to verify access level instantly at a glance.
PRINT PRODUCTION
Prepared print-ready files for credential production including laminated card stock, lanyard hole placement, sequential numbering placement, and holographic security element positioning.
// OUTCOME
Delivered credential design systems for seven MLB marquee events across three seasons — each meeting the dual standard of operational security functionality and the premium collectible quality expected of postseason and All-Star Game memorabilia.
